A roof leak affecting business premises
Premier Reinstatements (UK) Ltd completed this project at business premises in Newton-le-Willows in September 2026. The work brought together investigation of a roof leak, repairs to the roof construction and replacement of ceiling tiles inside the offices.
The photographs show the visible internal staining and the roof covering opened up during the work. They record different stages of the project, helping explain how the repair scope developed.
The initial concern: flashing
The flashing was initially suspected as the source of the problem. Further investigation identified an issue with the ridge tiles and a number of roof tiles. Opening up the roof also exposed perished membrane beneath the covering.
Those findings were important to the scope. The work needed to account for the condition beneath the tiles as well as the roof covering and the visible damage inside the building.
What Premier repaired
- Stripped the roof covering to expose the affected membrane.
- Cut out and replaced the perished membrane.
- Installed new wooden battens.
- Retiled following the membrane and batten work.
- Refixed the ridge tiles.
- Replaced the affected ceiling tiles in the offices.

Connecting the roof repair with the internal work
The roof photographs show the membrane and battens exposed while the covering was lifted. The internal photographs record staining to suspended ceiling panels in the offices. Together, these explain the two parts of the instruction: work to the roof and reinstatement of the affected ceiling finish.
Premier replaced the affected ceiling tiles inside the offices as part of the same project.
