Strip-out with the next stage already considered
Premier carries out strip-out after water damage, flooding and leaks across Lancashire and Greater Manchester. The work removes agreed affected materials, provides access where needed and prepares the property for drying and reinstatement.
The scope is defined around the damage and construction. It can be a targeted opening or removal across several affected rooms. We provide the full progression through drying solutions and building reinstatement, so the condition left after strip-out is considered alongside what comes next.
REAL PROJECT EVIDENCE
From a tank leak to a rebuilt Failsworth bathroom
Premier dried the room, removed the leaking tank and cupboard, then installed the upgraded bathroom.

What the removal scope can include
- Damaged plasterboard, plaster and finishes within the specified areas.
- Affected flooring, skirting and other agreed joinery.
- Kitchen or bathroom elements that need removal for access or replacement.
- Materials disturbed during trace and access where further removal is required.
- Preparation of the work areas for the agreed drying and rebuilding stages.
Removal is not the same as deciding that every item in a room must be replaced. The quotation identifies what stays, what is lifted for refitting and what is removed for replacement. If you want to retain a fitting or have spare matching materials, raise that before work starts.
Before the building is opened up
Agree the affected areas, permission to work and arrangements for belongings, access and occupied spaces. Supply relevant building information and explain any restrictions around services or neighbouring properties. Decisions about disconnection and safe access must precede the work that depends on them.
Potential asbestos is a separate safety consideration. HSE guidance requires contractors to establish whether their work could disturb asbestos and to stop where suspect material or insufficient information prevents safe work. Share existing surveys; required assessment or specialist removal must be resolved before disturbance. Where licensed asbestos removal is needed, that work requires a separately agreed specialist contractor.
Recording what is found
Opening up can reveal damage that was not visible at the quotation stage. Agree who can approve additional removal and how the findings will be recorded. Photographs, room references and a clear explanation help connect the revised work to the original repair instruction.
If an insurer or property manager needs to inspect materials before disposal, establish that requirement in advance. Discuss removal and waste arrangements as part of the scope, including anything requiring separate specialist handling. Do not assume that an initial strip-out price covers every concealed condition.
Connect strip-out to drying and reinstatement
The next stage may be further source investigation, drying or building repairs. A clear programme identifies that next step and who is responsible for it. Premier can continue with the drying and reinstatement, or work to an agreed handover where another provider has been appointed.
Repair decisions include the condition of retained materials, the replacement specification and the junctions between new and existing surfaces. For fitted kitchens and bathrooms, plan the removal and rebuilding together so access, plumbing and finishes are included in the sequence.
A bathroom strip-out in Worsley
A slow leak behind the bath and a separate shower leak caused extensive floor damage in our Worsley bathroom replacement project. The original bathroom was removed and the shower floor fully reinforced for the new shower tray former. Photographs show the exposed floor and shower area through to the completed replacement, making the preparation beneath the finishes visible.
Cost and disruption
Cost depends on the area and depth of removal, construction, retained fittings, access and handling requirements. Working in an occupied home or trading premises may require a different sequence from an empty property. Tell us about usable rooms, opening hours, deliveries and shared routes.
Safe photographs and an existing schedule help us discuss the job, but concealed materials or conditions may need inspection. The agreed scope should explain the known work and the approval route for anything discovered after opening up.
Your questions answered
Can you strip out and then complete the whole repair?
Yes. Premier provides strip-out, full drying solutions and reinstatement, including the agreed plastering, joinery, flooring, fitted-room work and finishes.
Do I have to empty the whole property?
That depends on the work areas and access needed. Discuss belongings, rooms in use and the removal scope before attendance so practical arrangements can be agreed.
What should I send with the enquiry?
Provide the postcode, affected rooms, source of damage, safe photographs and any authorised schedule through Tell us about the damage. Professional clients can use the organisation enquiry route.
