Water entering from the balcony above
This bedroom was in an apartment in a Manchester city-centre tower block. A leak at the balcony perimeter of the apartment above allowed water to saturate the bedroom wall below.
Another company carried out the strip-out and drying. Graham then undertook the reinstatement, returning the affected bedroom to its original state. The photographs follow that repair from the exposed wall to the completed room.

Rebuilding the bedroom wall
The first photograph shows the wall lining removed around the window, with blockwork exposed. Replacement wall boards were then fitted, with the window opening and existing fittings accommodated in the repair.
The next stages show the board joints prepared and the wall plastered ahead of decoration. These are the reinstatement stages Graham carried out after the earlier contractor’s work.

The finished photograph shows the decorated wall, skirting, ventilation grilles and blind in place, with the bedroom furniture back in position. It records the change from exposed blockwork to a reinstated room.
