Kitchen fitting and refurbishment for everyday homes

We welcome ordinary kitchen improvements and replacement installations, including work unrelated to a leak or insurance claim. Whether you have a supplier’s plan or are still deciding what to change, start with photographs and a description of the room.

The fitting is only one part of a kitchen project. Walls may need preparation, services may need moving and the existing floor can affect the new units. We discuss these interfaces so that the installation and the surrounding work form a clear scope.

  • Fitting kitchen cabinets, doors, drawers, plinths and finishing panels.
  • Repairing or replacing damaged units where a suitable repair or match is possible.
  • Removal of the old kitchen and agreed preparation of the room.
  • Sink and tap plumbing, wall repairs and plastering as required by the installation.
  • Agreed worktop fitting, splashbacks, flooring and decoration, with any specialist elements identified before work starts.

Share the worktop material and appliance list early. Specialist worktops, gas work and electrical alterations need their own arrangements within the project; they should not be assumed to be included in a fitting price.

Repairs around an existing kitchen

Our Altrincham kitchen ceiling story shows a ceiling rebuild and finishing around an existing kitchen after a leak from the flat above.

A MyBuilder customer in Holmfirth described having flood-damaged kitchen units rebuilt, together with repainting a wall and ceiling. Read the kitchen repair review in context.

From first photographs to an agreed job

  1. Send the plan and photographs. Include the postcode, a wide view of each wall and any supplier drawings. Tell us what is staying and whether the room will remain in use.
  2. Check the installation requirements. We discuss the cabinets, worktops, appliances, service positions, access and preparation. The scope identifies who supplies each item and any work requiring another specialist.
  3. Agree the sequence. Removal and preparation come before fitting and finishing. Delivery dates, missing parts and specialist measurements can affect the programme, so these are discussed before a start is agreed.

What affects your quotation?

Kitchen quotations vary with the number and type of units, the condition of walls and floors, the worktop material and how far services move. Keeping a sound existing layout is a different job from stripping the room back and changing it completely.

For a useful quotation, send the supplier’s item list as well as the drawing. Tell us about integrated appliances, replacement flooring, waste removal and decoration. We will distinguish the fitting work from products and specialist services so you can understand what the proposal covers.

Local work, with the right scope

Start with your postcode. We prioritise Rossendale and Rawtenstall, including enquiries from Haslingden and Bacup, alongside work across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

We consider the location, size of the job and access before confirming availability. For a project elsewhere in the North West, send the details so we can confirm whether it is a suitable fit. Our Rawtenstall registered office is for postal correspondence, not a showroom or walk-in trade counter.

Common questions about kitchens

Can you fit a kitchen I buy from a supplier?

Yes, contact us with the supplier’s plan, item list and product details so we can assess the installation and any preparation required. Discuss fitting before finalising delivery dates.

Do I need to replace the whole kitchen?

Not always. Tell us which units or finishes are causing problems and what you want to improve. Repair or partial replacement depends on condition, matching components and whether the existing layout works.

Are worktops and appliances included?

The agreed quotation will say what is included. Provide the worktop specification and appliance list; some products need specialist templating, installation or connections arranged separately.

Can you handle the wall repairs and plumbing as well?

We can discuss kitchen plumbing, plastering and making good as part of the project. This helps establish a practical sequence and a clear responsibility for each part of the room.

How do I get an accurate fitting quotation?

Send photographs, your postcode, the kitchen drawing and the supplier’s item list. Include what must be removed and any known problems. A visit may be required to check measurements, access and the underlying surfaces.
