A leak from the apartment above

The client’s apartment in Altrincham, Manchester, suffered a leak from the apartment above. The kitchen ceiling completely collapsed, leaving the kitchen in need of drying and reinstatement.

On this particular job, Premier Reinstatements repaired the leak in the apartment above as a gesture of goodwill. The work then continued in the client’s kitchen below.

Drying the kitchen before reinstatement

After the leak was repaired, Premier dried out the affected kitchen before reinstating it. Resolving the water source and drying the room came before the replacement ceiling and finishing work.

The supplied photographs begin during rebuilding. They show the exposed ceiling structure and the replacement lining being fitted, followed by preparation and the finished ceiling.

The early photographs show the ceiling joists, insulation and metal support channels visible while the new ceiling lining was installed. Further photographs show the boarding extending across the kitchen.

The joints were then prepared for finishing, with openings formed for the ceiling lights. These stages record the repair work between the original collapse and the finished ceiling.

Returning the kitchen to its original condition

The kitchen was reinstated to its original condition after the leak repair and drying. The final photographs show the restored ceiling with a white finish and recessed lighting back in place.
